Why this exists
Tax filing should not test your mental endurance.
Filing season still pushes many Kenyan taxpayers into fragile spreadsheets, desktop-software assumptions, version-specific Excel behavior, unclear validation errors, and processes that feel designed around the system instead of the person trying to comply.
That difficulty has created a privacy problem too. People hand sensitive financial details to third parties because the official path is hard to navigate. Taxpayers should be able to understand, prepare, hold, review, and audit their own return data.
KRA has a real foundation to build on. This project nudges the experience forward with modern tools that can serve taxpayers, preparers, auditors, and the wider tax ecosystem without making spreadsheets the main interface between a citizen and their tax obligations.
